My husband and I had found out I was pregnant around four weeks, however we weren’t comfortable telling family that soon. After waiting until closer to 12 weeks, we decided to tell our immediate families.

There was no question in our mind that our fur baby, Cooper, was going to help us out. I made him a bandana that said “Big Brother, June 2019” for him to wear.

These were the initial reactions from our family:

The Freedman Comments: “Awww Cooper has a little bandana! Orange and black for Halloween! (It was in the fall).”

The Goldstein Comments: “Awww Cooper has a bandana! Big Brother, I love that show! But you guys don’t watch it?”

After we told everyone to look closer or think about it a little more, they were absolutely shocked and thrilled!

Telling our family about our pregnancy really made it that much more real and exciting! However next time we may want to be a bit more direct upfront.
